Dîner en Blanc — the “dinner in white”

This September 24, Lafayette will play host to its very own Dîner en Blanc. A flash mob for gourmands, Dîner en Blanc is a chance to join your friends on a spontaneous picnic in an urban setting. Here is what you do:

1. Get together a group of your awesomest friends.
2. Let us, the organizers, know how many will be coming. Since this is our first time, we are limiting invites to the first 200 people to contact us.
3. Pick out your outfit. It can be casual or fancy but it does need to be all white.
4. Plan your picnic menu (Sadly, we cannot allow alcohol) and find a folding table and some chairs.
5. Show up at 7pm on Saturday, 24 September at your preassigned staging area. At that point, we will text everyone where the Dîner is to be held and the mob will assemble.
6. Eat, drink, be merry.

Wanted! Heads of Table

Love the idea of Dîner en Blanc so much you actually want to help out? Well, we could use the help. A "head of table" is simply someone who is willing to take responsibility for 5-10 people. These could be the friends in your group who are attending the dinner or they could be complete strangers that we connect you with. Your responsibilities would be as follows: arrive at the staging area a bit early (6:50) so that when people arrive at 7:00 they will know they are in the right place. A few minutes after 7:00 we will text you the location of the diner and you will relate that information to those in the staging area. The only other responsibility is, at the end of the picnic you need to make sure that the people in your group clean up after themselves. We will be providing trash bags for any refuse.
